What Day Is It?

Even if my mind was not suffering from post-stone-massage fuzz, I would have a hard time remembering what day it is.  They all seem much the same here in spa heaven.

Every day, several times a day, I open my brochure of the week’s activities and have to ask myself which day I should be looking at.  But part of the confusion comes from not only planning what I will do next, but also plotting ahead to the next day and even the next.  (I am an over-planner even on vacation.  Or maybe especially on vacation.)  Some classes are offered every day; some are only offered once or twice while I’m here.  I wouldn’t want to miss my only chance to find my inner sexiness during Strip Fit class!

Yesterday and today I again packed in the exercise classes.  My favorites have been Stride (intervals on the treadmill; taken twice now and at least once more before I leave) and Step (which I had not done in seven years because of over-use foot injury but discovered is just like riding a bike.)  Fun and sweaty – both.  One afternoon I actually took a break from the gym and went on a hike instead (which is not something I ever do at home and thoroughly enjoyed).  I have managed to relax enough to squeeze in two stretching classes which can be hard for me with my non-relaxing personality.  And my mom and I took a short stroll on the wooded path around the grounds.

The days also blur together because they are quite simply all such fun and similarly end with a feeling of being good and done.  Some days my muscles are sorer than others.  One day I may have a facial and the next a massage.  But for me at the spa, the outside world seemingly ceases to exist as I go about my days with a smile on my face, a bounce in my step, and a warm fuzzy in my soul.

So what day is it?  Doesn’t much matter to me.  Until the day I have to leave for home:(

  1. I hope the rest of your days there are just as enjoyable!

  2. Okay, now I’m envious of you. It sounds like a fabulous experience. Enjoy yourself. (But know that we miss you.)

  3. Wow. I’m very envious. And happy for you too. Hooray for your mom for paying and taking you! Yay to fitness and relaxation. I hope you have a great time for the rest of the trip!

  4. Glad you are having such a blissful time at the spa!!! We’ll be waiting for you here in the real world when you get back! 🙂

  5. Genie

Envy pretty much does it for me. Those them-thar stone massages seem like they’d really be nice. Enjoy!

  6. I had my first stone massage about two months ago, and wow did I have a fog! I was barely coherent, and completely grumpy, even though my body was nice and relaxed. I needed a nap, and wasn’t able to take one.

Enjoy the feeling of now, and letting the details blur a little. Makes things interesting, don’t you think?

  7. Karen I am so jealous. And I wish I could spend the day doing ANYTHING with my mom. Have fun with her.smile.

  8. Wow, a place where you can get excited about trying new types (and old types!) of exercise! Sounds like you’re having a good time and that it’ll probably jump start your program too!

  9. Sounds like so much fun!

I would love to do a step class, haven’t done it in ages

  10. Oh wow, that sounds awesome. I so need to go to a spa.

  11. Hot stone massages are the best!! Glad you are having a great time!

  12. You crack me up about the stretch class. I normally walk out of the stretch part at the end of an intense workout class because I can’t lay there and stretch. It seems like I’m waisting precious time. I am proud of you for doing the stretch class 🙂

  13. Okay – I am glad I am not the only one to express my pure envy of your week.

  14. I’m so glad you are having a great time – enjoy it to the fullest and soak up all the girl time with your mom!
